The Theory Weight Calculation Formula of Seamless Steel Pipe

Domestic seamless steel pipe supplied according to chemical composition and mechanical properties, such as the chemical composition of No. 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 steel, which should meet the requirements of GB/T699-88.


Accordance to GB/T8162-87, seamless pipe specifications: 

The outer diameter of the hot-rolled pipe is 32～630mm. The wall thickness is 2.5～75mm. 

The outer diameter of cold rolled (cold drawn) pipe is 5～200mm. The wall thickness is 2.5-12mm.

The weight calculation formula of seamless steel pipe is:

m=F×L×ρ

m—mass Kg; F—cross-sectional area m2/m; L—length m; ρ—density *Kg/m3

Note: F sectional area calculation method:

1. Square steel  F = a2

2. Steel pipe  F=3.1416×$(D-$)     D—diameter ＄—thickness

3. Steel plate and flat steel    F= a×$          a—width
