ERW Pipe is Becoming Seamless

ERW steel pipe is straight seam electric resistance welded pipe, used to transport oil, natural gas and other vapor-liquid objects, and can meet various requirements of high and low pressure. The biggest difference between ERW steel pipe and seamless steel pipe is that ERW has a seam.



With the development of production technology, ERW steel pipes have become seamless, which can be divided into geometric seamless and physical seamless.


Geometric seamless is to remove internal and external burrs of ERW steel pipe. Due to the continuous improvement and perfection of the structure and tool of the internal burr removal system, the internal burr can be controlled at -0.2mm ~ O.5mm.


Physical seamless means that there is a difference between the metallographic structure inside the weld and the base metal, which leads to the decline of the mechanical properties of the weld area, and should take measures to make it uniform and consistent.
